Larnach Castle & Olveston Historic Tour

Discover two historic mansions on our most popular scenic tour, including New Zealand’s only lovingly restored historic castle – Larnach Castle.

Olveston House*, which was built between 1903 – 1906 by Dunedin businessman, collector and philanthropist, David Theomin.

A tour of Larnach Castle*, located on Otago Peninsula, gives an insight into the life of  William James Mudie Larnach, an entrepreneur and later Member of Parliament.  The Castle is situated within 14 hectares of spectacular gardens, rated as a Garden of International Significance by the New Zealand Gardens Trust.
